The Province announced an investment of up to $34 million over three years in a redesign of Nova Scotia’s foster care system. The aim is to create a modern and sustainable system that provides families and children the supports they need to flourish.

During the recent House session, I asked the Minister of Health why private school children were not given access to the same COVID-19 rapid tests as their public school counterparts. I’m happy to report that the province will soon be distributing take-home rapid tests for COVID-19 to private schools, among other locations.

Apply for help with household costs: Seniors Care Grant

As of December 1st, you can now apply for the Seniors Care Grant. This grant provides up to $500 in funding for eligible Nova Scotians aged 65 years and older who need help around their homes. Covered expenses include snow removal, small household repairs, lawn care, grocery delivery and other needs.
